A couple days before leaving campus to come home, I took a study break to make this beauty:
It's kind of hard to read, but you can probably figure out that it says "I will go and do the things with the Lord hath commanded." I'm quite excited that I had the opportunity to do this :)
On my campus, there's a place that has craft classes and monthly projects for us creative types. It's snazzy and I love it. This monthly project was called "canvas quotes." Basically, you take a "canvas" (not like a blank one, but some sort of picture or other flat surface that you can paint on) and stick letters down to spell out your quote. Then you paint over it and peel the letters off once the paint dries!
My canvas was originally (a painting?) an image of a couple of birds on some flowers. You can kind of see one of the flowers if you look really close:
A few tips:
- ONLY USE ONE COAT OF PAINT. I covered almost the whole canvas in red before I decided that I didn't like it. And then peeling the letters off was an adventure, and you can see some of the red in the letters. Oops.
- Let the paint dry COMPLETELY before peeling the letters off. Trust me.
- Make sure your letters will actually come off before you start putting paint down. It's hard to deal with letters that don't come off cuz the paint WILL come off.
- Pick a color that isn't in your canvas, but looks nice with it. There's too much green in my canvas and it's kind of hard to read in a couple spots.
- Make sure your letters are firmly stuck down before you paint. Otherwise, paint will get under the stickers and you won't have nicely defined letters. Bummer.
- Short quotes are good. They fit better, you can use bigger letters, and then it's easier to read.
Let me know if you try this, and if you do, how did it turn out? :)

Haha, I know right?? It doesn't have to be plain white canvas from a craft store, it could just be an old painting/picture/whatever that you picked up at a flea market :) Either way will turn out beautifully! (Just test your stickers out first, however you do it!)
