About Me

Hi, my name is Marie-Rose and I'm a convert to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints :)

I have two younger sisters and no pets. Trust me, we've tried everything we can think of to talk our parents into getting us a pet. It's not effective.

Favorites: purple, supreme pizza, cheesecake, scarves, high heels, boots, springtime, jewelry, institute, texting, blankets, ceramics, hot chocolate, reading blogs, and cats.

I really really really like cats :) have you seen my blog button?? Yup, future crazy cat lady right here :)

I make jewelry and other crafty things. I used to cross stitch/knit/crochet, but those things take patience that I just don't have.... Hehe :) I REALLY wanna learn how to sew. Well, technically I know the basics of sewing, and with help I can make things like a prom dress, but I wanna be able to do that without help. For my Integrity project for Personal Progress, I made maxi skirts with some help from my awesome neighbor. Now that I'm in college, PP isn't as big of a priority, so unfortunately I won't be posting about that a lot :( I'm like halfway done! Not bad for only having worked on it for two years!

I was a gymnast for 13 years. Unfortunately, I quit a year or two ago because I dreaded going to class even though I love the sport. I never competed; recreational gymnastics was my thing. I spent the last couple years just tumbling (floor only), because the place we had been going to was 1) moving locations to farther from our house and 2) crazy expensive. Vault was always my favorite event, though. Because of gymnastics, I could do more pushups than any guy in my 6th grade class. By 8th grade, I couldn't do quite as many (plus the guys had bulked up by then), but I could still beat almost any girl in my class. Now, I don't even want to know how few I can do.... I would rattle off all the moves I could do, but it's not an impressive list and most of you would have no idea what I'm talking about... PS this image is totally awesome. So true. (except for the typo, sorry, the internet doesn't have a lot of good versions of this image out there)

I kind of really love my friends. A lot. Seriously, friends are the awesomest thing ever. I hope to talk them into guest posting more often.

Side note, if you read my blog, I would love to have you guest post, too! (Seriously, I can't come up with post ideas by myself all the time. I need you.) Shoot me an email under the "Contact Me" tab! I got rid of that contact form and just created an email address for my blog :)

I took a ceramics class in high school, so I kind of know how to use a potter's wheel. It makes me super happy and it's really fun and I can't wait to get back into wheel throwing so I can make super awesome useful stuff! :D

J'adore parler français, mais je n'aime pas la classe de français. I love to speak French, but I don't like French class. Anything French-related (Eiffel Towers, seeing French written somewhere, l'Arc de Triomphe, etc) makes me happy!

So far, I'm a college freshman majoring in chemistry. Previous ideas for majors include chemistry education (to be a high school chem teacher), fashion design, interior design, and cooking. Oh, and at one point I wanted to double major fashion and chem ed, plus minor in French. I may or may not be unrealistically ambitious...(That was sarcasm. I'm very unrealistically ambitious)... So we'll see how this goes :)

My ultimate dream job is to run my own dress shop. I wanna make the dresses and I wanna make the jewelry. And of course, everything would be modest and still super cute :D

But Marie-Rose! How does majoring in chemistry of all things help you get into the fashion world??

D'you know what, I actually haven't planned that far out yet. But someone has to invent new types of synthetic fabric, test the fabrics, etc.... In other words, I have no idea what I'm doing but something awesome will come of it :)
