Happy Dance :D

Soo yesterday I had my baptismal interview. It still doesn't feel quite real that things are finally happening, but November 15 is a week from today!!! :D

My dad came to visit last weekend, as I mentioned he might do in this post. He brought the lefse things, and also we sat and talked for a long time. We started out discussing school, and then what everyone at home is up to, and work, and what I've been up to... And finally we got into talking about church.

He opened the conversation by saying that after this conversation, everything was gonna be fine. We were gonna come out of this conversation feeling like everything's all good.

*whew*

Last time we went out to eat to talk church, he started the conversation by saying we WEREN'T gonna end the conversation feeling like everything was okay, that it was going to be an uncomfortable conversation, and if at the end we felt like things were fine then we hadn't accomplished what we needed to by having that conversation. And he was right - that conversation (a  couple months ago) did not end well and I was terrified to do it again.

But last weekend wasn't like that. It went well. He talked about how he wants to keep the family together, and it's fine if we have religious differences, so long as we still get together for Thanksgiving and Christmas in years to come. He doesn't wanna create tension by forbidding me to get baptized.

So now the only obstacle is my sister's work schedule. She needs to either have the day off, or work an evening shift. And once that happens, I can finally set a time :D I have speakers - a friend from home and a girl I met here at college - and that's all I have going for me so far. But I'm getting there :)

Two weeks from today, there's a Temple trip. I can't go because of my work schedule, but I'm SO EXCITED that that's a thing that can happen in the future :D

    3. Thanks :) after a brief period of time in which I almost changed the date to Nov 23, everything's looking good now. My family (minus the sister who works) is coming, a friend from home is coming, several nonmember friends are coming, and it's TOMORROW. KIND OF EXCITED.

    1. You just made my day - it makes me happy that you remembered! :D and also, it makes me happy that it's SO CLOSE. OH MY GOSH. Also, I set a time - 12:30pm - and I can't wait. All of the excitement. It doesn't seem real yet. But I'm so exited.

I shall be sure to write a post about all of it as soon as I have time! This weekend is SUPER busy for me, because homework and a chem exam on Monday and making lefse and my baptism, but once I get a chance I'll tell you guys all about it :)
