I have a testimony of putting God first

Today, the topic is putting Heavenly Father first in all that we do.

I'm involved in this fundraiser. It's a fashion show, and the entry fee for a design is $250. It's due April 24. I just started planning fundraisers this past week, which was my spring break. I didn't think we could possibly raise that amount in such a short amount of time.
Especially cuz our major fundraiser that we estimated would make $150-$200 got shot down; our school's admin wouldn't approve it (it was just selling hot chocolate/coffee/donuts before school!! Totally harmless!!!). So we've been reduced to planning school nights at local restaurants. Those don't make a ton of money. Needless to say, I was super nervous.

But then I went to seminary.

That whole week of my spring break, I kept thinking I should go to seminary. (Long story short, my school schedule is not the same as the majority of LDS kids in my town, so seminary runs on their schedule) But I kept going to bed super late (read: after midnight), and I can't go to seminary when that happens cuz I get headaches (plus it's a wonderful incentive to get in bed on time). FINALLY Wednesday night I got permission to go Thursday, went to bed at a halfway reasonable hour, and got up at super-early-o'clock for seminary :)

I barely remember what we talked about, but prayer was mentioned. I need to pray more.

Anywho, after seminary, later that day, I called the people running the fashion show to ask when the $250 fee was due (cuz at that point, I didn't know). That's when I found out that the fee is really only $50, cuz the other $200 is to cover the cost of materials for our design entry. Ohthankgoodness. It totally made my day. And answered my prayers. And there seems to be a direct correlation between my attending seminary and finding out we only had to raise a much smaller amount.

I have a testimony that Heavenly Father will bless us when we put Him first. I have a testimony that making time for Him balances your schedule so that you actually have time to do all the things that you don't think you have time for.

In seminary, another girl actually shared her testimony of this very concept. She had an extremely busy day last week, was worried she wouldn't be able to get to everything, made time to pray and study scriptures and go to seminary...and magically had some free time later in the day to work on some of the things she thought she didn't have time for.

These things really happen, guys :) I know sometimes we doubt it, because we just have so much stuff that needs doing and not enough time to do it all (why am I still up at almost-midnight? French homework, that's why. Not enough time before cuz Imma master procrastinator). Heavenly Father is willing to help us out, though, if we just balance out our day by spending a little time with Him :)
